Send directly to the three major credit bureaus under FCRA § 611. These letters trigger a mandatory 30-day investigation and require the bureau to correct or delete unverifiable information.

Dispute Letter — Outdated Negative Information
$7Dispute negative items that have exceeded the 7-year (or 10-year for bankruptcy) reporting limit and should have been removed.

Furnisher Dispute Letters
5 templatesDispute directly with the creditor or collector that reported the item

Goodwill Adjustment Request Letter
$7A professional goodwill letter requesting a creditor voluntarily remove a late payment or negative mark as a courtesy, based on your overall payment history.
Collections & Charge-Offs
6 templatesDebt verification, validation, and collection account disputes

$7Formally request that a debt collector provide written verification of the debt — including the original creditor, amount, and account number — before you pay or acknowledge it.

Pay-for-Delete Negotiation Letter
$9Offer to pay a collection account in exchange for the collector's agreement to delete the account from your credit report. Not guaranteed, but worth attempting.

Dispute — Zombie Debt (Statute of Limitations Expired)
$9Challenge collection attempts on debts where the statute of limitations for legal action has expired. Includes language to prevent the collector from re-starting the clock.
Dispute — Collection Account Already Paid
$7Dispute a collection account that still shows as unpaid or 'open' after you have already paid or settled it. Request updated status or deletion.

Hard inquiries can lower your credit score. Under the FCRA, only inquiries made with your permissible purpose authorization are allowed. Unauthorized inquiries can be disputed and removed.
